I adore capturing those everyday moments in life.
Like a child playing in the sprinkler. Or the way a mother looks at their new baby. I love the look on a teens face as they tell their mum how she inspires them. Photography is my art, and I feel blessed everyday that I get to call this my job. Being able to capture photos that will be cherished throughout childhood and into adulthood is truly my dream.
Thank you for helping that come true.
We are a defence family and have had the opportunity to live in various locations over the last 13 years. We are now happily settled in North Brisbane, and it is so great to be back here with our three children.
I first got into photography after having my eldest daughter. However, it wasn't until I had my son that I really decided to learn about my camera and how to get the most out of it. My husband was deployed when our son was just 5 months old, so capturing those special moments for him, and being able to share those moments, was so important. It also gave me a purpose and hobby while I navigated the next 7 months of motherhood in a new city, with a new baby. I soon found out that I didn't just enjoy taking photos, but I LOVED it, I craved it. So I learnt more.
It became even more important for me to capture photos of our family when my husband was deployed during my third pregnancy. We knew when he left that the next time he saw us, our little baby would be earthside. This has definitely increased and fed my passion for capturing motherhood.

"The official flower of the military child is the dandelion. Why? The plant puts down roots almost anywhere, and it’s almost impossible to destroy. It’s an unpretentious plant, yet good looking. It’s a survivor in a broad range of climates. Military children bloom everywhere the winds carry them. They are hardy and upright. Their roots are strong, cultivated deeply in the culture of the military, planted swiftly and surely. They’re ready to fly in the breezes that take them to new adventures, new lands, and new friends."
Because we're a defence family with three children, I really wanted to pay tribute to them and this life that we live. Defence life is not always easy. It often means we say goodbye to a lot of people and start new in many different places. It sometimes means that an integral part of our family is far away. Photographing and capturing my children in the places that we are NOW is so important to me, and something I am passionate about doing for other families in similar situations to us. Whether it be defence families or FIFO families, I have learnt that these little people grow before your eyes, and creating memories in each space has been a beautiful way for us to look back and appreciate this wonderful, albeit sometimes chaotic life we have been gifted.
